Well, I never thought I'd say this, but democracy is over. E-voting has single handedly ended it. The fix was in!

Crossing the Chasm on Privacy and DRM One of the more interesting aspects of the technology adoption lifecycle in Moore's Crossing the Chasm that doesn't often get discussed is the selection bias that consumes the innovators and the early adopters. It is fascinating, for example, to see privacy advocates and DRM detractors acting as if the entire population (of the free world?) agrees with them because they use anecdotes from their professional colleagues...who are also privacy advocates and DRM detractors...as evidence. (Makes me wonder how many innovators/enthusiasts there are in the world - 100 million?) It doesn't take much to come up with a better way to...

Security Metrics Revisited Lots of talk about security metrics in the blogosphere. Since I just got done "breaking all the (unofficial) rules" about security metrics in my one day metrics class, I feel compelled to comment. Mike Rothman at Security Incite re-initiated the (security part) of the conversation by pointing to "Joel on Software" and suggesting that metrics are bad because you can game them. I think he can be swayed to the pro-metrics side of the house, but only time will tell. He (and Joel) is/are right that metrics can be gamed - my biggest "metric" pet peeve is when my kids'...

I'm a guy with some ideas and opinions.
